Founded in 1970 by Bill Barnes, the Poetry Workshop is a
self-governing group within the Society of Civil and Public Service Writers.
Membership is open to anyone who works, or has worked, in the Civil &
Public Service.
Annual subscription for members of the Society of Civil &
Public Service Writers is £5.00
For those who are not members of the Society, the
subscription is £7.00
Membership of the Poetry Workshop provides:
- three lively Newsletters each year, plus a fourth, competition special
issue
- the chance of publication in Waves (the annual collection of PW
members' work)
- access to the popular Postal Folio scheme
- eligibility for the Bill Barnes Poetry Competition (exclusively for PW
members)
- eligibility for the annual PW Weekend at the University of Birmingham
